DEAR ST. MICHAEL MEMBERS,
We would like to thank you for the many cards, phone calls, flowers, visits, and food that were sent following Charles’ sudden death. Your concern and prayers were a great blessing to our entire family. Pastor Robert was a source of comfort through this unfortunate episode. God is good! Love and Peace, Janice Castor and Family.
OCTOBER SAINTS ALIVE:
The October Saints Alive meeting will be Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 12:15 in the Social Hall. This will be a pot-luck lunch. Bob and Bonnie Dietrick will present their pictorial visit to The Ark Encounter located in Williamstown, KY. It is a full-sized reconstruction of Noah’s Ark. Their program should be quite enjoyable. Please mark your calendars now and plan to enjoy with your St. Michael family.
THE PUMPKIN PATCH IS RETURNING!
PUMPKINS ARRIVED LAST SUNDAY. Many volunteers are needed throughout the month. The link to sign up is here: http:// www.signupgenius.com/go/70a0d4facaf2aaa8-arcum1. This joint effort of the AR- CUM churches – Augusta Road Churches United for Ministry – supports area servant ministries. Last year The Samaritan House, Pleasant Valley Connection, and The Mother Teresa House each received $1,159.37. We believe this effort has greater po- tential. If you have questions or need more information, please see Dave Cook, Ton- jia Groblewski, or either pastor. We are grateful for our congregation’s partnership in this effort!
TWENTY CAME FOR THE “BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS” OCTOBER 1!!!
We are grateful to you for your support, and for blessing us with your stories!
is a newly forming group which will focus on spiritual nurture in a group setting which shares leadership. Fourteen people attended the initial interest meetings. We are working to merge calendars, and will announce a regular meeting time. This is an OPEN group. If you are interested, please contact Maureen Nelson or Pastor Robert. SPIRITUAL NOURISHMENT AND FAITH-FILLED ENCOUR-AGEMENT are hard to find in the world. Yet God calls some of us to give those gifts to each other. May God bless this new beginning, to be a blessing to the world God so loves!
ADAM MONN, JULIA RHYNE, EMMA STREET, AND SAMANTHA WALGATE WILL affirm their Baptism though the Rite of Confirmation on Reformation Sunday, October 29 at the second service. They are currently meeting with their mentors to develop a life-long faith-nurturing relationship. Please lift them in prayer as they ap- proach this milestone event in their faith journey!
SUNDAY LUNCH COOKS NEEDED
WE NEED SUNDAY LUNCH COOKS FOR OCTOBER 22 & 29! SUNDAY LUNCH IS A FAVORITE ACTIVITY that has been going on for four decades at St. Michael. A hot meal is served in the Fellowship Hall starting about 12:15 on most Sundays be- tween Oct. and the end of Lent. Those who partake have remarked that it is an excel- lent time of fellowship among families, friends, and visitors and the best deal in town for a good meal. Cost is only $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children, and worship visitors eat for free. You can eat and run or hang and talk, whatever suits you. A sign-up chart for cooks is posted in the Gathering Area. Some have committed to cook on the Time and Talent Sheet and just need to choose a week. Others can sign up with any group on any Sunday that fits your schedule. “Veterans” will be more than happy to have the help of “Newbies” if you want to be part of a team with experience. Or, “Newbies” may want to step up to the “plate” and create a new menu or use some tried and true ones in the cookbook beside the refrigerator. If we have no cooks for a Sunday, there will be no lunch served.
